This is our finest limited edition solid-brass sextant.
The index arm is stamped "White Star Line, 1911" with a serial number.
Only 25 of these limited edition R.M.S. Titanic sextants with the lattice frames have been made, and each one has a unique serial number.
This is a full-sized eight-inch radius solid brass sextant with six swing-arm filters, and a slow motion control
to allow fine adjustment of the index arm.
The inclination angle can be read from the German Silver vernier scale.
The index and horizon mirrors can each be adjusted using three brass knurled screws.
A built-in magnifier can be swung into position to assist in reading the vernier scale.
There is a hardwood handle on the back of the sextant.
The sextant measures 10 1/8 inches (25.7 cm) tall, 10 1/4 inches (26.0 cm) wide, 4 5/8 inches (11.7 cm) deep,
and weighs 3.8 pounds (1.73 kg).
The sextant comes with a beautiful hardwood storage and display box.
The outside of the box is inlaid with brass and has a brass plaque stamped "RMS Titanic, White Star Line, 1911"
The interior of the box is lined with velvet.
There is a brass and hardwood hold-down mechanism to secure the sextant in the box.
A polished brass screwdriver is included which is stamped "White Star Line" and can
be placed into a hardwood holder in the box when not being used.
