Full Description:
The Stanley London® telescope is mounted on a heavy solid brass casting and a three-legged solid teak tripod base.  This is our newly-redesigned massive solid brass refractor antique reproduction telescope that uses precision ground glass optics and produces a clear 32-power non-inverted (upright) image.  These are not the inexpensive 8 - 12 power decorative versions made from thin, easily dented 0.8 mm brass.  These have 32-power precision coated optics and are made with dent-resistant heavy 1.2 mm thick brass.  For many years, mariners have considered 32-power to be the ideal balance between magnification and field of view.  Focusing is accomplished by rotating a large adjusting ring near the eyepiece.  A sunshade protects the objective lens from glare and the inside of the telescope is coated flat black to improve contrast.  A removable brass cap protects the objective lens when the telescope is not in use.  These heavy, solid brass telescopes are perfect for your office, near a view window, or for celestial observations.

This telescope is available in two finishes: The polished brass version has been hand polished to a high luster.  The antique patina finish is made to look like a 100 year old antique, never needs polishing, and can be handled without tarnishing the brass.  The telescope is 43 3/4 inches (111 cm) long with the eyepiece fully extended, 3 inches (7.6 cm) in diameter, has a tube outside diameter of 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm), and an objective lens diameter of 2 inches (5.1 cm).  When extended, the sunshade adds an additional 3 inches (7.6 cm) in length.  The telescope with tripod weighs 22 pounds (10 kg).  The maximum height of the telescope is 61 inches (155 cm) and it can be collapsed to a height of 38 inches (96.5 cm).  The telescope is easily removed from the tripod, and the tripod collapses efficiently for compact storage.

The telescope can be custom engraved near the eyepiece with up to two short lines of text, such as a name and a date.  The main tube of the telescope can be engraved with artwork, a logo, or one to four longer lines of text.  Due to the large width of the engravable area, we suggest engraving full names rather than monograms or initials.
