Full Description:
This premium grade model of the sundial compass has a round spirit level built into the frame to assist in leveling the sundial.  The three main variables that affect the accuracy of a sundial are the azimuth, latitude of the instrument, and level.  This sundial has the ability to set all three variables.  It has an internal magnetic compass to align the sundial in azimuth to North.  The top of the sundial is hinged and a curved scale is used to set your local latitude angle.  The three legs of the sundial can be adjusted until the spirit level's bubble is centered.  The compass features a needle lift mechanism to protect the compass's jeweled bearing when being transported.

The top of the sundial can lay down flat, and both the latitude scale and the sundial vane are hinged to lay flat for compact storage.  The sundial measures 5 inches (12.7 cm) tall, 2 3/8 inches (6.0 cm) tall when collapsed, the body of the compass is 2 7/8 inches (7.3 cm) in diameter, and the sundial weighs 14 ounces (397 grams).  This premium grade model is only available in the polished brass finish.  A beautiful fully lined hardwood case is included for display and storage of the brass sundial.  The corners of the case have inlaid hardwood splines.  Custom engraved brass plaques are available that mount on the case to personalize your gift.  Note that the inlaid brass diamond cannot be engraved.
