This Stanley London® Solid Brass Wilderness Scouting Compass is one of the
best scouting compasses available, with many
advanced features not found on other pocket compasses.

The precision compass capsule features a modern liquid-damped compass with a needle that isolates
movements and quickly settles to North.
The jeweled arrow-shaped compass needle is easy to read, accurate, quick and responsive.
An interesting feature is that the entire compass bezel will rotate to adjust to your local magnetic declination angle
(the difference between true north and magnetic north).
In this way you can orient to either magnetic north, true north, or any arbitrary reference.
Adjustable bezels are usually reserved for the most expensive compasses such as our
Brunton Pocket Transit.
The bright glow-in-the-dark luminescent dots are unique and invaluable for nighttime orienting.
Besides a luminescent dot on the north end of the compass needle, there are also two luminescent
dots that rotate with the compass bezel.
In this way, you can rotate the bezel to maintain any heading with the compass needle's
glowing dot centered inside the two glowing dots on the bezel.
The three luminescent dots glow brightly in the dark for easy nighttime reading.
The case of the Wilderness Scouting is made of solid brass with a hinged lid which will not rust.
Unlike most other brass compasses, these Wilderness Scouting Compasses have a special clear coating that eliminates tarnish
and fingerprints on the brass.
This Wilderness Scouting Compass is lightweight and excellent for camping, hiking, hunting,

The compass is the size of a standard pocket watch, measuring 1 15/16 inches
(50 mm) in diameter, 5/8 inch (16 mm) thick, and weighs only 1.64 ounces (46.4 grams).
The front, back, and / or inside lid of the Wilderness Scouting Compass can be custom engraved with
your personalized inscription.
The front and back of the compass can each be engraved with a maximum of 36 words
and the inside lid can hold a maximum of 25 words.
We offer two solid brass pocket compass chains as an option for your compass.
These chains are specially made to be non-magnetic and will not effect the accuracy of your compass.
Each has a clasp on one end that attaches to the fob on the pocket compass, and the other end
can be attached to your pocket, belt, or button hole.
The Gold Plated Light Pocket Compass Chain is 14 3/4 inches (37.5 cm) overall, weighs 0.5 ounces (14 grams), and costs $9.40;
The Gold Plated Heavy Pocket Compass Chain has larger links and is 14 inches (35.5 cm) overall,
weighs 1.1 ounces (31 grams), and costs $10.50.
